Dear Reader,

I wanted to share something exciting with you! I recently had a great conversation with Tim Fergestad on the Phoenix Prosperity Podcast, where we explored education, leadership, and the power of community impact.

In this episode, we discussed:

The Million Dollar Teacher Project (MDTP)—our mission to elevate the teaching profession by increasing support, compensation, and recognition for educators.
The teacher shortage crisis—and why this issue affects entire communities, not just students.
My role at STN—and how we’re shifting local media to focus on solutions, not just problems.
Authentic leadership—staying true to your mission and making a lasting impact.

At MDTP, we believe that when teachers thrive, students succeed, and communities grow stronger. That’s why we’re dedicated to bringing innovative programs and partnerships to support educators in Arizona and beyond.

If you care about education, leadership, and creating change, I think you’ll find this conversation valuable.

Lloyd Hopkins

Growing the Tree

Million Dollar Teacher Tree was first developed in a classroom by students in a program called, Next Generation Service Corps at Arizona State University in December of 2017. These students were tasked by Lloyd Hopkins, founder of Million Dollar Teacher project with developing a project that can potentially become an integral part in helping MDTP achieve its mission. The group eventually developed the original prototype for Million Dollar Teacher Tree—a cutout dollar sign that would be placed in surrounding businesses near the partner school. The idea was pitched to staff members of MDTP during the last of their class, and the project was picked up by MDTP as a new pilot program for the organization. After many months of planning, the prototype was eventually revamped into what it is today, Million Dollar Teacher Tree.
